Perseverance- Defending the Dream to get your Breakthrough Part I

We all have dreams of doing great things for the kingdom and each of our individual dreams, or Life Purpose, matter.

In order to fulfill the plans and purposes of God, I believe that we each need to discover our own individual kingdom purpose and dreams because they are all connected to God’s master plan for us as a body of Christ followers.

We need to be intentional about finding and living out our purpose, and never give up.

From my own experience it is easy to give up and grow weary of the battle, but that is exactly what the enemy wants from us because he knows we are close to our breakthrough.  I’m not giving up and neither should you!

We need to persevere. We have all these weapons and they won’t do us any good if we just stand on the sidelines.  We need to actively engage in the battle when God tells us to.

In the bible, the concept of Perseverance is addressed using words like:

o   Persistence

o   Patience

o   Endurance

o   Diligence

o   Pressing on

Sounds like hard work.  It is.

Sometimes we have an idea, or a dream, and in the process of pursuing our dream and making it a reality, it requires that we stay strong, have a firm resolve, and persevere.

We all have dreams.  Some we’ve shared, some that are so deeply planted in our soul we are almost afraid to say them out loud for fear of ridicule

We all carry treasures within us, our spiritual DNA. The stamp of originality that is as definite and unique as our physical potential which is encoded upon conception (for me that would be blond hair, blue eyes, left handed, female), it is also the imprint of our gifts, and we have far more gifts than we can even imagine, just waiting to be unfolded, dusted off, shined and polished for the kingdom.

Our spiritual DNA is the treasure chest we bring into the world and our job is to develop and use the gifts.

Gifts are different from skills. Skills can be learned. For something to truly be a strength and a potential life calling , we usually need to have a combination of a natural gift, a skill, and passion working together. Others typically affirm natural gifts in what they see in us that comes outpouring naturally.  It doesn’t mean we do it perfectly, but it is something special and unique that others see the potential gift in us.

God can work miracles and supernaturally give us specific giftings at any time, but what I am talking about here are the natural, spiritual DNA giftings that we are born with.  It’s kind of like God’s birthday present to us, and then He just watches us over time, waiting for us to unwrap the gift and use it for His kingdom purposes.  It’s not a gift if we don’t accept it and unwrap it.

What gifts has God given you to use for His Kingdom purposes?  Are any of those gifts just sitting on a shelf collecting dust?  Take some time today to unwrap that gift and release it into the world.  Look for creative ways to use that gift as a service to others.  My challenge for you today is to start using that gift, refining it, and allow God to work through you in amazing and abundant ways in order to make a difference in your life, and the lives of those He divinely places in your path.
